The Roman thermal spa of S. Pedro do Sul is located on the banks of the Vouga River, approximately 500 metres from the thermal water spring. The building, which dates back to the Roman period (1st century AD), has preserved much of its original structure to this day and has been classified as a National Monument since 1938. Its varied occupation over the centuries has been marked by small signs, which have not, however, prevented the prevalence of the original Roman structure, with much of the walls and the beginning of the roofs from the Roman period still remaining. The project for its enhancement, rehabilitation and conservation was based on the restoration of the building, proposing the minimum intervention necessary for its use and correct perception. The restoration of the most striking features of the environment from the Roman period was worked on based on the scale, light and presence of water.
